Lance McWhorter is the Executive Chef & Owner of Culture ETX in Tyler, TX.  During his service in the US Army, US Navy, as well as a high threat security contractor in the Middle East, he traveled to almost 40 different countries, and has used that exposure to so many different cultures and cuisines to nurture his true passion, cooking. After his military and security service in Iraq he helmed several restaurants before landing in Dallas where he had the opportunity to learn from some of the best chefs in the game at such legendary locations as FT33, and Macellaio, and hosting some incredible pop ups at local favorites such as Petra and the Beast, and Taco y Vino.

You may recognize Lance as the winner of the Dallas stop and reigning ‘Prince of Pork’ of the prestigious fine dining pork cooking extravaganza ‘Cochon 555,’ as well as from such shows as Food Network’s ‘Chopped’ and in the headlines for being awarded the ‘Bite of the Season’ for his now famous dry aged Heritage Pork Chop by Emmy Award winning TV show, ‘The Texas Bucket List.’ He lives in Tyler with his professional Barbecue Pitmaster wife Bailey and their two dogs Rio and Dookie.
